Bunker Hill Village
The city of Bunker Hill Village was founded in 1954. Independent from Houston, the Memorial Villages natural setting, fine schools and proximity to downtown Houston attract residents in search of space and peaceful surroundings.
Through the years ordinances were adopted establishing zoning regulations that have very effectively preserved the characteristics that are so well known as “the Memorial Villages.” The zoning ordinances are available at the City of Bunker Hill Village Web Site (www.bunkerhill.net).
The Memorial Villages Police Department serves Bunker Hill, Piney Point and Hunters Creek Villages. The department is nationally accredited and plays a very important role in the communities in addition to their policing responsibilities. The police department provides a number of services including House Watch. The police station is located at 11981 MemorialDrive.
The Village Fire Department serves six Memorial Villages (Bunker Hill, Hedwig, Hilshire, Hunters Creek, Piney Point and Spring Valley). The station is located at 901 Corbindale in Hedwig Village.
The Spring Branch Independent School District is one of the most highly rated districts in the state. Elementary age children attend Frostwood, Bunker Hill or Memorial Drive Elementary. The middle schools that serve Bunker Hill Village are Memorial Middle School to the west and Spring Branch Middle School on Piney Point Road. The senior high school is Memorial High School that provides a very competitive environment for those who plan to attend college.
